Case Study - I.C.T. and Pensioners in rural England

Do you feel that digital technologies have made a genuine impact on the couples lives?
Would their lives be poorer if they did not have access to I.C.T. at home?
The couple were able to afford thier own computer. Would access in the community center three miles away be useful?

I feel very much so that the digital technolgy they have been exposed to has made a genuine impact on the couples lives, I think this is mainly down to them being able to keep in good contact with relatives in Austrlia and Pakistan.
Thier lives would have been much poorer if they had carried on without it, I bleive this because they have been able to buy holidays with ease, research thier family tree's for free, look at thier earlier lives and even order food online, and soon other goods!
Computer access at the local community centre would be a good idea because people who couldn't afford a computer and attended the course would want to put thier skills to a use, also those who can afford computers, if thiers broke down it would also be useful.
