Discussion - Society and the Individual

George Orwell wrote about how technology could be used to control us in his famous book of a totalitarian future, 1984, published in 1948.
Review some of the comments on the US's response to Homeland security.
To what extent should we allow society to 'look after' us and as a result, deprive us of individual freedom?

Much like the 'Teen Arrive Alive - Tracking System' this is over the top. Big Brother had a big influence from this book, thats what life he was implying we would all live by the year 1984. Instead we are still living in a democratic society much like his in the sence of every day terms, in london we are caught on average on 300 cameras per day its not to the extent of constant cervailence.

If you live in London it is expected that your image is captured around 300 times a day!
